Prestressed Concrete Walling Panels

Unbrako manufacture concrete panels ranging in width of 0.5 – 1.8m and thicknesses of 100, 150, 180 & 280mm.

Concrete walling panels are connected by a tongue and groove joint and are typically installed horizontally between steel columns.

The 100mm panels are typically used for light-duty walling such as livestock buildings and workshops whereas the thicker units are used for earth retention, silage pits, grain stores and waste transfer stations among other applications.

Concrete panels offer a low cost, high strength walling solution that is very quick to install and also flexible for future alterations, should that be required.

Flexible Design

Cast to suit column centres with thicknesses from 100mm to 280mm

Fast Installation

Large panels drop between steel columns or fix to the outer face, speeding up wall construction

Strength & Durability

Prestressed strands reduce cracking and allow panels to handle surcharges up to 20 kN/m²

Fast, Flexible Walling for Agriculture, Storage Bays, and more...

Common Applications

Prestressed wall panels are widely used across industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects where strong, durable wall systems are required.

Common applications include:

  • Industrial Buildings and Warehouses - Prestressed wall panels are frequently used in large industrial buildings, warehouses, and logistics facilities
  • Commercial Developments - Retail units, office buildings, and mixed-use commercial developments often incorporate prestressed wall panels as part of their structural or external wall systems
  • Retaining and Boundary Walls (King Post Systems) - Prestressed panels can be used to form retaining or boundary walls where additional structural performance is required
  • Infrastructure and Utility Projects - Infrastructure developments such as energy facilities, transport infrastructure, and utility sites often require durable concrete wall systems

Key Benefits

Prestressed retaining walls provide a high-strength solution for projects that require enhanced structural performance and durability.

  • High structural capacity – Designed to resist heavy vertical and lateral loads
  • Reduced cracking and deflection – Enhanced durability and service life
  • Slim, efficient sections – Optimised use of materials without compromising strength
  • Factory-controlled quality – Consistent finishes and dimensional accuracy
  • Rapid installation – Precast solutions that reduce on-site time and labour
  • Design flexibility – Custom sizes, finishes, and connection details to suit your project
  • Cost efficient - Delivering value through optimised design and reduced whole-life costs.

Prestressing introduces controlled compressive forces into the concrete, significantly enhancing crack resistance and structural efficiency. The result is a wall system that performs better under load while using material more efficiently.

How are Prestressed Concrete Panels installed?

We have an in-house installation team, able to provide you with a professional and competitive installation service if required.

Prestressed concrete panels are installed using a simple process – either by placing the panels between steel support columns, or clipping them to the face of the steel support columns using the metal fixing plates provided. Therefore no foundations are needed.

Unbrako’s panels are supplied with polyurethane sealant inclusive, allowing you to seal the joints preventing the ingress of rain and damp.

A set of lifting shackles is also provided inclusive.
