Culvert Wingwalls
Wingwalls are an optional addition to our precast concrete box culvert systems, designed to enhance both the structural performance and hydraulic efficiency of the installation. Typically formed as angled vertical concrete slabs extending from the culvert opening, they provide a smooth transition between the culvert and the surrounding embankment.
By guiding water flow into and out of the culvert, wingwalls help to improve channel alignment and reduce turbulence at the inlet and outlet. This not only supports hydraulic performance but also plays a key role in minimising erosion and protecting the surrounding ground.
